Partial Influence of Western Winds Causes Haze Across Nepal, Light Snow Possible in High Mountains

Kathmandu. The Department of Meteorology has stated that a partial influence of the western winds is currently affecting Nepal. Due to this influence, haze has settled over the Terai region and the valleys, while the far-western and Karnali provinces, along with the high hilly and Himalayan regions of the country, are generally cloudy.

This afternoon, fog and mist will persist in some parts of the Terai region until noon. Generally cloudy conditions will prevail in the high hilly and Himalayan regions of the country. The remaining hilly regions will experience partly cloudy skies, and the Terai region will remain mostly clear.

There is a possibility of light rainfall accompanied by snowfall in one or two locations in the high hilly and Himalayan regions of the Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.

Tonight, haze will remain in a few locations in the Terai region. Generally cloudy conditions will prevail in the high hilly and Himalayan regions of the Koshi and Gandaki provinces, while the weather in the remaining areas will be mostly clear.

The Department has indicated a possibility of light rainfall accompanied by snowfall in one or two locations in the high hilly and Himalayan regions of the Koshi and Gandaki provinces.
