Anti-Graft Body Files Corruption Charges Against Engineer in Lalitpur Municipality

Kathmandu. The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Tuesday filed a charge sheet at the Special Court, Kathmandu, against Engineer Subash Bista of Godawari Municipality, Lalitpur, regarding corruption allegations.

CIAA Spokesperson Suresh Neupane informed that the charge sheet was filed at the Special Court demanding a total of NPR 19,710,157 as the amount acquired illegally through corruption by Bista, who was working on a contract basis.

According to him, since the assets illegally acquired by misusing authority while holding a public service position were found to be in the name of his father, a claim has been made to confiscate the concealed assets and impose imprisonment and fines on the father, Sudarshan Bista, under Section 16(2) read with Section 16(9)(20) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2059, for the offense committed.
