Vice Mayor of Byas Municipality Among Four Injured in Three-Vehicle Accident on Prithvi Highway in Tanahun

Tanakun. Four people, including Byas Municipality Vice Mayor Indira Darai, were injured in a three-way vehicle accident today in Dulegauda, Shuklagandaki-2, Tanahun, along the Prithvi Highway.

The accident occurred when a motorcycle with registration number Bagmati Province 02-064 P 0783 heading from Dulegauda towards Pokhara collided head-on with a taxi coming from the opposite direction with registration number Ga 1 Ja 4667. After hitting the motorcycle, the out-of-control taxi then crashed into a goods transport van with registration number Dha 1 Ja 624 coming from Pokhara towards Dulegauda, according to police.

Vice Mayor Darai and her 27-year-old son, Hemanta Darai, who were traveling in the taxi, were injured in the accident. Taxi driver Sandesh Gole, 38, from Pokhara, Kaski, and motorcycle rider Samesh Kumar Thapa, 18, were also injured, police stated. Among the injured, taxi driver Gole is undergoing treatment at the Western Regional Hospital, while Vice Mayor Darai and the other two are being treated at Aavishkar Hospital in Pokhara.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Shrawankumar Bik of Tanahun, efforts are underway to collect further details about the condition of the injured and the incident. Traffic was also affected for some time after the vehicles collided on the highway.
