Bollywood Actor Ranveer Singh Receives Death Threat Demanding Ransom

Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh received a death threat on Tuesday.

A ransom demand of crores of rupees was made via a WhatsApp voice note. According to the Indian online magazine Bhaskar, immediately after the threat was received, the Mumbai Police tightened security outside Ranveer's residence in Bandra. Additional police force has been deployed, and movement is being strictly monitored.

This incident comes after five rounds of firing outside film director Rohit Shetty's Mumbai home on January 31, which has made the Mumbai Police more alert.

Police officials stated that in the threatening voice note, the accused claimed to be associated with serious crime. A warning was also issued that failure to pay a large sum of money would result in dire consequences. The police have sent the voice note for forensic investigation.

The Cyber Cell and Crime Branch of the Mumbai Police are working together to trace the location of the accused based on the WhatsApp number and voice sample. Preliminary investigation suggests that the person issuing the threat might be connected to an organized criminal gang.

The news also mentions that the police are investigating whether the threat received by Ranveer Singh is directly related to the shooting incident at Rohit Shetty's house or if it is merely a conspiracy to spread fear. The police have stated they will apprehend the accused soon.
