Kathmandu Metropolitan City to Fund Kirtipur Hospital for Medical Equipment Purchase

Kathmandu. The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) is set to assist Kirtipur Hospital in purchasing health equipment.

An agreement was signed under the KMC's annual program for the purchase of equipment necessary for health treatment at Kirtipur Hospital, in the presence of Acting Chief Sunita Dangol, Chief Administrative Officer Saroj Guragain, and Education and Health Committee Coordinator Chinikaji Maharjan. On behalf of KMC, Health Department Chief Deepak Kumar KC and on behalf of the hospital, Chairman Dr. Bharat Kumar Pradhan Shrestha signed the agreement.

KMC has signed the agreement for the grant for purchasing medical equipment under the approved program for the current fiscal year. One crore rupees has been allocated for this purpose. As per the agreement, the hospital will purchase one anesthesia machine, one 250 KVA generator, and one 500 MA digital X-ray machine necessary for health treatment through the public procurement process.

KMC provided assistance to offer quality, easy, and simple treatment services to the residents of Kathmandu and patients coming to Kirtipur Hospital for treatment. Acting Chief Sunita Dangol stated that the grant was provided with the objective of making the hospital's services, which include burn treatment, high-quality and accessible.

Hospital Chairman Shrestha mentioned that the hospital operates with a spirit of service rather than for profit, saying, 'Treating burn patients is difficult. We expect continuous support from KMC to make this easier.'
