Nepali Film 'Lalima' Set for Release on Falgun 29, Poster Unveiled

The film 'Lalima' is set to be released on Falgun 29. The production team announced the release date on Tuesday while unveiling a poster for the film. Roshani Karki plays the lead role in the film. Besides Roshani, Usha Rajak, Shishir Wangdel, Jeevan Bhattarai, Sabin Kattel, Ghanshyam Joshi, and Sushma Niraula play the main roles.

The film is directed by Roshan Miraj. According to Miraj, this film is based on the life experiences of three thousand sex workers. Roshani portrays the role of 'Lalima' in the film. Usha plays the role of her mother.

'The story of the film is related to Lalima's difficult journey. Due to an incident, Lalima's mute mother ends up in prison. In the process of getting her mother released from jail, Lalima is pushed towards the harsh and dark side of the city. After that, Lalima will be forced to live in physical, emotional, and mental distress,' added director Miraj.

The poster features actress Roshani Karki as the sole focus. She can be seen sitting in distress near a window. Her upper body is unclothed, and she is covering her body with a white cloth. The blood-stained 'Lali' (red color/lipstick) on her suggests suspicion about her character.

The film, made in collaboration with Faith Astha and Amplify Change, has Reena Lama as the executive producer. The writer and director of the film is Miraj himself.
