Police Constable Arrested in Connection with NPR 6 Million Robbery at Tribhuvan Airport

Kathmandu. Police Constable Karna Bahadur Sunar, working at the Tribhuvan International Airport Security Office, has been arrested by the police. A team deployed from the Valley Crime Investigation Office arrested him on the charge of involvement in the robbery of NPR 6 million from a man in Kirtipur.

‘We will provide gold with bills at a cheap rate’ was the lure used by a group to call the victim to Kirtipur. Preliminary police investigation revealed that after the victim reached ABGado Cafe in Kirtipur on Magh 14, the group led by Constable Sunar fled after robbing him of NPR 6 million while claiming, ‘We are police officers from CIB.’

The 38-year-old constable is a local of Kawasoti-13, Nawalparasi. Police have also arrested three other individuals involved in the robbery. Spokesperson (SP) Rameshwor Karki of the Valley Crime Investigation Office informed that the incident is under investigation.
