Paryas Manch Nepal Honors Former Runner Haribahadur Rokaya for Sporting Contributions

Kathmandu. Paryas Manch Nepal honored former runner Haribahadur Rokaya on Tuesday. Rokaya was honored in recognition of his contribution to sports.

Rokaya, who successfully registered his name in the Guinness Book of World Records for the Everest Marathon, has represented Nepal in 2 Olympics, Asian Games, 4 South Asian Games, and various other international competitions. Rokaya is also active in producing athletics players in Jumla.

On the same occasion, Pushpalal Shrestha, a medal winner at the South Asian Veteran Athletics Championship, and social worker Bam Bhandari were also honored.

They were honored by former record-holding South Asian Games runner Baikuntha Manandhar, Chairman of Paryas Manch Nepal Shivadhwaj Karki, and veteran runner and lyricist Buddhabir Lama during a program organized at Dasharath Stadium.

On that occasion, Buddhabir Lama also handed over sports attire for the athletics players of Jumla to Rokaya.
