Armed Police Establish Security Bases in Chitwan Ahead of Federal Elections

Chitwan. Keeping in view the upcoming House of Representatives election, the Armed Police Force Nepal has started providing security by establishing election security 'bases' in the three constituencies of the district. Security bases have been established targeting the Election Officer's Office in the three constituencies.

According to Chief District Officer Ganesh Aryal, the bases have been established for election purposes. He said, "Bases have been established keeping in mind incidents that may occur during the election period." Armed police have been mobilized under the leadership of a Deputy Superintendent of Police from the Armed Police Force. He informed that bases have been established in Khairahani for Constituency No. 1, Bharatpur-10 for Constituency No. 2, and Rampur for Constituency No. 3.

The bases will be removed once the election purpose is served. Along with this, the Nepali Army has started providing security at two locations in the district. He stated that the Army has started providing security at Bharatpur Airport and the Prison Office. Considering the security of the district, he mentioned that joint patrols by the Nepali Army, Armed Police Force, and Nepal Police have also begun. He said, "Currently, we are strengthening the security arrangements along with inspecting the polling stations."
