Weak Western Winds Affecting Nepal's Weather, Fog and Snow Expected in Some Areas

Kathmandu. The Department of Meteorology Forecasting has stated that a weak western wind system is currently influencing Nepal. Fog has enveloped the Terai region, while the far-western and Karnali provinces, along with the high hilly and Himalayan regions across the country, are generally experiencing cloud cover.

This afternoon, some parts of the Terai region will experience mist and fog until noon. The high hilly and Himalayan regions of the country will generally have cloud cover, and the remaining hilly regions will see partial cloudiness. The Terai region will remain mostly clear.

There is a possibility of light rain accompanied by snowfall in one or two locations in the high hilly and Himalayan areas of the Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.

Tonight, fog will persist in a few locations in the Terai region. The high hilly and Himalayan regions of the country will have partial cloud cover, and the weather in the remaining parts will be mostly clear.

The Department has indicated a possibility of light rain accompanied by snowfall in one or two locations in the high hilly and Himalayan areas of the Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.
