Police Arrest 14 Individuals Across Nepal in Separate Drug Busts

Kathmandu. Police on Monday made public the arrest of 14 individuals from various locations across the country in connection with illegal narcotics.

Those arrested include 24-year-old Gurans Gurung, originally from Nawalparasi East and residing in Jharang, Tarkeshwor Municipality-6, and 23-year-old Roshan Bhujel, originally from Dudhauli Rural Municipality-2, Sindhuli, residing in Narayanthan, Kathmandu.

Police recovered 1,800 tablets of the controlled narcotic Tramadol from their possession. They were apprehended with the narcotics by police deployed from the Narcotics Control Bureau, Koteshwor.

Similarly, police arrested 22-year-old Prakash Thakuri, originally from Nuwakot and residing in Teku, Kathmandu, this morning from Dhunge Dhara Chowk, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-16, along with 590 tablets of the controlled narcotic Tramadol. Police found the narcotics in the scooter's storage compartment (dicky) while inspecting vehicle BA55P 8466, leading to Thakuri's arrest.

Furthermore, police arrested three individuals last night from Naradevi, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-18, along with 470 tablets of the controlled narcotic Tramadol. Central Police Spokesperson and Deputy Inspector General of Police, Abinaryan Kafle, informed that those arrested are 24-year-old Rajesh Gamal from Makwanpur residing in the same area, 22-year-old Niranjan Rokaya from Kalikot, and Kushalratna Tuladhar from Kathmandu Metropolitan City-18. Police deployed from the Metropolitan Police Circle, Janaseva, apprehended them with the narcotics.

Meanwhile, in Lamki Chuha Municipality-1, Lamki Bazaar, police arrested 19-year-old Prem BK, a local resident, with 110 milligrams of a substance resembling brown heroin. He was arrested with the substance by police deployed from the Area Police Office, Lamki.

In Kailali's Tikapur Municipality-9, Khakraula, police arrested two individuals, including 19-year-old Dhanraj Buda, a resident of the same municipality-8, with 1 gram and 390 milligrams of a substance resembling brown heroin. Police deployed from the Area Police Office, Tikapur, and Kalakunda Police Post arrested them with the substance.

In Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City-13, Rajpur, police also arrested 29-year-old Dinesh BK, a resident of the same sub-metropolitan city-1, with 370 milligrams of a substance resembling brown heroin. Police deployed from the Kailaligaun Police Post arrested him with the substance.

In Morang, two individuals were arrested from Somabare, Gramthan Rural Municipality-5, with 1,020 tablets of the controlled narcotic Tramadol and 1,500 tablets of Spaspen. Spokesperson Kafle stated that those arrested are 25-year-old Ranjit Sah, a resident of Sundarharaincha Municipality-11, and 73-year-old Bhakulal Biswas Tharu, the operator of Baidyanath Pharmacy located at Teteria Chowk, Gramthan Rural Municipality-5.

According to him, police deployed from the Teteria Police Post arrested driver Ranjit Sah and Bhakulal, who was traveling in the City Safari with registration number Province 1-01-002 H 3973, while inspecting the vehicle traveling from Teteria towards Netachowk, where the narcotics were found. In Surkhet's Birendranagar Municipality-10, Budbude, police arrested two individuals on Sunday afternoon with five grams and 42 milligrams of a substance resembling brown heroin.

Those arrested are 28-year-old Deepak BK and 25-year-old Ashok BK, both local residents. Central Police Spokesperson Kafle informed that police deployed from the District Police Office, Surkhet, and the Narcotics Control Bureau Branch Office, Surkhet, arrested them with the substance. Police are conducting necessary investigations regarding the incident.
