CPN Chairman Prachanda Alleges Global Imperialism Attacking Nepal's Democracy Through Populism

Kathmandu. Chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN), Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', has alleged that global imperialism is attempting to attack Nepal's democracy through populism.

Speaking at a party induction program organized in Kathmandu-5 on Monday, he stated the necessity of moving forward with a new resolve to counter this. He clarified that merely staging stunts on social media in the name of 'new' will achieve nothing.

"Even if they create a fuss on social media, they have no plan or agenda. Global imperialism has attacked democracy and socialism by presenting populism in various countries. Geopolitical maneuvering is underway in Nepal to repeat that international phenomenon and attack democracy," he said. "To counter that, a new resolve and new review are needed to gain strength for the nation and the people. The CPN has been formed precisely for that strength."

Prachanda reiterated that the CPN holds the new ideology and agenda. He asserted that concepts like the republic, federalism, and social justice are still new and that the CPN is leading them.
