Nepal Electricity Authority Warns Employees Against Misuse of Social Media

Kathmandu. The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has cautioned its employees to be mindful of the dignity and prestige of the organization while using social media.

The Authority reminded employees that it is the responsibility of all staff to adhere to the provisions regarding conduct stipulated in the NEA Employee Service, Conditions, and Regulations.

The NEA has expressed objection to the recent growing trend among employees of posting and reacting on social media and communication channels in a manner that spreads negative influence, featuring unverified, fictional content that damages the reputation of society and the office, including posting official letters.

NEA Deputy Director Narayan Prasad Acharya informed that the positive role of all stakeholders is necessary to discourage such tendencies among NEA employees and to make the use of social media dignified, organized, and constructive.

Employees have been notified not to post official letters or other unnecessary posts on social media in violation of the conduct stipulated in the NEA Employee Service, Conditions, and Regulations 2075.

The notice clarified that departmental action, as per the provisions in the regulations, will be taken against employees who post unnecessary content or give inappropriate reactions after collecting their details.
