India Clinches U-19 SAFF Women's Championship Title, Defeating Bangladesh 4-0 in Final

Kaski, Magh 24: India has won the title of the ongoing U-19 SAFF Women's Championship football tournament in Pokhara. India became the champion after securing a massive 4-0 victory over defending champions Bangladesh in the final match held today at the International Football Stadium in Pokhara Stadium.

India managed to score one goal in the first half and added three more in the second half. Captain Julan Nongmetham gave the lead by scoring in the 42nd minute of the match. Elizabeth Larka extended the lead in the 63rd minute.

India received a penalty in the 68th minute of the game. Pearl Fernandes scored from the penalty awarded after Begum of Bangladesh fouled an opposing player in the penalty area. Similarly, Anwita Raghuraman scored in the 83rd minute, enabling India to achieve a comprehensive victory.

Bangladesh's Alpi Akter received the titles for the tournament's Best Player and Highest Goal Scorer. India's Munni Banda received the Best Goalkeeper award, and India also received the Fair Play Award. Four teams, including Nepal, India, Bangladesh, and Bhutan, participated in the tournament which began on Magh 17.
