Actor Bhuwan KC Mourns Loss of Veteran Artist Sunil Thapa, Calls Him Nation's Finest Talent

Kathmandu. Actor Bhuwan KC has expressed grief over the demise of veteran artist Sunil Thapa. Writing on social media platform Facebook on Saturday, he stated that the Nepali film industry has lost the nation's most outstanding artist.  

KC mentioned that Sunil was not only an artist but also a true friend to him. He stated: ‘The Nepali film industry has lost the nation's most outstanding artist today. Because Sunil was an established artist not only in Nepali cinema but also in Indian cinema. But for me, Sunil was not just an artist, but also a true friend.’

Actor KC recalled spending intimate moments on numerous film sets since working together on the first Nepali film 'Chino', and mentioned collaborating on films he produced. He recalled that whenever he met Sunil, he would always ask how his friend was doing, and stated that wherever he is, he will remain in the hearts of the Nepali film industry and them.

Veteran artist Thapa passed away this morning at Norvic Hospital in Thapathali due to a heart attack. Thapa, who resided in an apartment in Shankhamul, had been active in both the Nepali and Indian film industries for a long time.

Thapa, who succeeded in bringing the role of 'villain' in Nepali cinema the same level of recognition and respect as a hero, was popularly known by the name 'Rate Kaila'.
