Partial Influence of Western Winds Affects Weather Across Nepal

Kathmandu. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has stated that Nepal is currently under the partial influence of the western wind system. Due to this influence, some areas in the Terai region are experiencing fog, while the Koshi Province and the mountainous and high hilly regions of the country have partly cloudy skies.

This afternoon, fog and mist will persist in some parts of the Terai region. The mountainous areas of Koshi and Gandaki Provinces will generally have cloud cover, while the rest of the country will see partial cloudiness. There is a possibility of light rain and snowfall in one or two locations in the high hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi and Gandaki Provinces.

Tonight, fog will be present in a few locations in the Terai region. Parts of the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces will have partial cloud cover, and the weather in the remaining areas will be mostly clear.

The Department has indicated a possibility of light rain accompanied by snowfall in one or two locations in the high hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi and Gandaki Provinces.
