Lawmaker Demands Government Clarification on Health Insurance Program Disruptions

Kathmandu. CPN-UML lawmaker Tulsakumari Dahal has demanded that the government provide a clear explanation to the parliament regarding the problems surfacing in the Health Insurance program. She made this demand while speaking during the zero hour of the National Assembly meeting held on Friday.

Lawmaker Dahal stated that since the program is being halted in hospitals citing a lack of budget, the government must inform the parliament about the status of the situation. She emphasized that the government should not delay in arranging the necessary budget for this program, which has provided significant relief to the general public.

Lawmaker Dahal said, 'News is circulating that the Health Insurance service, which the general public is utilizing, has to be stopped in hospitals because the government has not provided the budget. We also heard that the honorable Prime Minister has taken an interest in this matter. I demand that the government inform us what has been done for its management.'

Prime Minister Sushila Karki had also expressed interest in the matter and committed to arranging the necessary resources. Lawmaker Dahal stressed the need for the government to make an immediate decision on managing such issues of public concern.
