Two New Nepali Films, 'Kumari' and 'Ramita Ko Pirti,' Hit Cinemas

Two new Nepali films, 'Kumari' and 'Ramita Ko Pirti,' have been released starting today (Friday) as part of the Friday releases. Both films premiered simultaneously across the country. However, these two films have not completely dominated the cinema halls nationwide, as the previously released 'Aa Bata Aama,' 'Paran,' and some foreign films are still occupying some screens.

'Kumari' is directed by Dinesh Raut, while 'Ramita Ko Pirti' is directed by female director Sudipta Adhikari.

The film 'Kumari,' based on a love story between young men and women, has made a positive start, securing 152 shows in halls across the country. This film will also be screened in Australia, the United States, Canada, and Middle Eastern countries alongside Nepal. According to producer Mahendra Adhikari, the distribution rights have been purchased by Asacast Nepal and Three KG Events for Australia, Atreya Production and Koseli Colorado for the US, Mero Events for Canada, and Nepfilm for the Middle East.

This film, produced under the banner of Binish Entertainment, marks the debut of Abhishek Khadka and Aakriti Rajbhandari in the lead roles. The film also features performances by Ghanshyam Joshi, Sunita Shrestha, Aakanksha Karki, among others. Bikash Subedi is the writer, Susan Prajapati is the cinematographer, and Kedar Bhusal is the executive producer.

Meanwhile, 'Ramita Ko Pirti' is based on a breakup story. The film has begun its screening journey with 93 shows nationwide. If the business performs well, the number of shows will increase. Starring actress Aana Sharma in the lead role, the film presents the love, betrayal, and the mental state after a breakup, as seen from a woman's perspective, particularly among the youth.

Director Sudipta states that the film is not just a love story but a story about breakup. "Many love stories have been made from the male perspective in Nepal, but this film portrays the pain and experience a woman goes through after a breakup on screen," she says.

In addition to Aana Sharma, the film features performances by Binay Shrestha, Dheeraj Magar, Samir Shrestha, Gaumaya Gurung, among others. Sagar Lamsal is the producer, while Aana Sharma and Santosh Lamsal serve as executive producers.
