Bollywood Actor Rajpal Yadav Surrenders to Tihar Jail Over Cheque Bounce Case

New Delhi. Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav, known for his comedic acting and powerful performances, is currently in the news more for legal disputes than for films.

After failing to get relief from the Delhi High Court in an old cheque bounce case, Rajpal Yadav has finally surrendered to the Tihar Jail in New Delhi. As soon as this news became public, there was a stir in the film industry and among his fans. 

Surrender in Cheque Bounce Case

A case related to cheque bounce had been pending against Rajpal Yadav for a long time. The court had previously convicted him in this matter and ordered him to surrender. The actor had appealed for an extension of the deadline, but the Delhi High Court rejected his plea. The court clarified that there was no concrete basis for extending the time and he must surrender immediately before the jail authorities. 

Surrendered Around 4 PM on Thursday

According to reports, Rajpal Yadav reached Tihar Jail around 4 PM on Thursday and surrendered before the authorities. Following this, the jail administration initiated action against him according to the prescribed rules and standard procedures. 

On behalf of Yadav, it was argued in court that arrangements for about 50 lakh rupees had been made and some more time should be given for payment. His lawyer also stated that the actor was going through financial difficulties and had the intention to pay. However, the court did not accept these arguments and clarified that the law is the same for everyone, whether it is a common person or a big film celebrity.
