National Human Rights Commission Urges Human Rights-Friendly Upcoming House of Representatives Election

Kathmandu. The National Human Rights Commission has emphasized making the upcoming House of Representatives election on Falgun 21 human rights-friendly.

Commission Spokesperson Dr. Tikaram Pokharel issued a press release on Thursday emphasizing making the election human rights-friendly.

The Commission urged all concerned parties to make the election human rights-friendly by refraining from hateful accusations against each other during the election, ensuring no one misuses social media, not impacting the voter's right to privacy, not publishing/broadcasting misleading news, stopping violent activities, making voter education effective, and fully adhering to the election code of conduct.

He stated that the Commission is monitoring the human rights situation during the House of Representatives election. The Commission has discussed the effectiveness of monitoring and observation with the heads and representatives of various organizations observing the election.

Participants in the discussion emphasized the need to make the election human rights-friendly.
