Western Low-Pressure System Affects Nepal, Bringing Clouds and Potential Snowfall

Kathmandu. The Department of Meteorology has stated that a western low-pressure system is currently influencing Nepal. Due to this influence, the hilly and mountainous regions of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, along with other areas, are generally cloudy. The remaining parts of the country are experiencing partial cloud cover.

This afternoon, fog and mist will persist in some areas of the Terai region. The high hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces will generally be cloudy, while the rest of the country will have partial cloud cover. There is a possibility of light snowfall and rain in one or two locations in the high hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

Tonight, fog will be present in a few locations in the Terai region. The high hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces will have partial cloud cover, and the weather in the remaining parts will be mainly clear. There is a possibility of light snowfall and rain in one or two locations in the high hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi and Gandaki provinces.

Since there is a possibility of moderate snowfall and rain in a few locations in the high hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, which will increase cold and impact daily life, tourism, trekking, health, as well as air and road transport, the Department has requested that necessary precautions be taken.
