Government Withdraws Social Media Regulation Bill from Federal Parliament

Kathmandu. The government has decided to withdraw the bill related to social media from the Federal Parliament.

Government Spokesperson and Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal informed that the cabinet meeting held at the Prime Minister's residence in Baluwatar on Tuesday approved the decision to withdraw the Bill to Make Provisions Regarding the Operation, Use, and Regulation of Social Media, 2081, from the Federal Parliament.

Likewise, he stated that the meeting also decided to approve the amendment to the Singha Durbar complex master plan to construct a monument for the martyrs of the Jyanji movement within the premises of the under-construction Parliament building.

Earlier, on Magh 8, Prime Minister Sushila Karki had directed various ministers and concerned officials to amend the master plan for the Parliament building construction and proceed with the construction work.
