CPN-UML Leader Jitendra Narayan Dev Announces Departure from Party

Kathmandu. CPN-UML leader Jitendra Narayan Dev has announced his resignation from the party. Dev announced his departure from the party via the social media platform Facebook on Monday, expressing dissatisfaction that the UML has failed to understand the 'GenZ movement' and instead only sees foreign conspiracies instead of correcting its course.

‘The GenZ revolt on Bhadra 23 was an explosion of anger against the long-standing misgovernance, corruption, plunder, unemployment, and the mass exodus of youth from the country,’ Dev stated. Furthermore, Dev mentioned that he had to leave the party due to his disagreement with the leadership's working style of taking the party towards individualism and deification, and operating the party in an arbitrary manner.

‘Instead of working to correct the party, seeing it as a ‘foreign conspiracy’, taking the party towards individualism and deification, and operating the party in an arbitrary and discriminatory manner, I disagree with the ideology, policy, and behavior, and hereby announce my resignation from CPN (UML) effective today, making this public information to all concerned parties,’ Dev said. Dev had joined the UML on Ashar 17, 2081, after leaving the Nepali Congress.
