Giant Shiva Statue Transforms Pumdikot into Major Tourist Destination Near Pokhara

Pokhara. The construction of a massive statue of Lord Shiva at Pumdikot in the Pokhara Valley has turned the area into a tourist destination. This location is rapidly gaining popularity as a new spot for both domestic and international tourists visiting Pokhara.

A 51-foot tall statue of Lord Shiva has been erected at Pumdikot. Structures, including the statue, have been built with the objective of establishing a religious tourism hub. Across approximately 22 ropanis of land, structures such as the giant Shiva statue, 108 Shivlingas, a damaru (drum), and a kalash (pot) have been constructed.

From Pumdikot, located 13 kilometers from Pokhara city, one can enjoy panoramic views of the mountain range, Sarangkot, Phewa Lake, and the scenic Pokhara region. Hundreds of tourists have started visiting Pumdikot daily.
