Two Brothers Die in Himachal Pradesh Avalanche; Loyal Dog Guards Bodies for Four Days

Chamba. A heartbreaking incident has emerged from the Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh. Nineteen-year-old Vikash Rana and his 13-year-old brother Piyush, who had gone to the hills above the Bharmar Mata temple to shoot a video, died after being trapped in an avalanche. 

However, amidst this tragic incident, the loyalty of an animal has stunned the world. 

The two brothers had climbed the mountain to shoot a video while having fun. They lost their lives due to a sudden change in weather, resulting in a snowstorm and extreme cold. After the sons were out of contact for several days, a rescue team reached the site with the help of drones and helicopters. What the team witnessed there melted everyone's hearts.

• Loyal Sheru Waited for Owner's Body 

The two brothers had passed away, but their family dog, 'Sheru,' had not left its owners. Sheru stayed guarding the lifeless bodies of its owners for four days without eating or drinking amidst the cold and snow. Perhaps it hoped that its owners would wake up again and love it.

When the rescue team arrived, Sheru was shivering from the cold and was very weak. Yet, it refused to leave the bodies of its owners. In a video that went viral on social media, even when rescuers petted him and called out 'Sheru,' he did not move from the spot. 

According to the police, the teenagers died due to freezing in the extreme cold and snow.

The entire village is in mourning over the departure of the two children who left home laughing and playing. No one thought that the excitement of capturing happy moments on a mobile camera would lead to such a tragedy. 

On these snow-covered hills of Chamba, the unfinished dreams of two brothers and the story of a loyal dog's selfless love are now etched forever.
