Heavy Snowfall Blankets Mustang and Other Himalayan Districts, Disrupting Transport

Mustang. Heavy snowfall has been recorded in various parts of Mustang since Tuesday night. The hills and mountains here are completely white. Rain has also occurred in most places.

The Kagbeni-Korala road has been blocked due to the heavy snowfall. In some places, snow has accumulated more than two feet deep. Roshan Thkali, head of the agriculture branch of Gharpaunjo Rural Municipality, stated that with the snowfall, there is hope for the improvement of crops such as apple, barley, buckwheat, wheat, and potato.

Similarly, heavy snowfall has been occurring in Humla, Mugu, Dolpa, Jumla, and Kalikot since Tuesday night. Life in Bichhya, Rugin, Bandhu of Himali, Allis, Dahakot of Gaumul, and Kuru village of Budhinanda has been affected due to the snowfall. Jashiram Sahani, head of the Agriculture Knowledge Center, stated that the wheat crop will improve following the rain and snowfall.
