Western Disturbance Affects Nepal Weather, Forecasts Light Snowfall in High Mountains

Kathmandu. The Department of Meteorology has stated that Western Disturbances are currently having a partial impact on Nepal's weather. Due to this influence, a slight haze has been observed in a few locations in the Terai regions of Koshi and Madhesh provinces. The Himalayan regions of the country are experiencing partial cloud cover, while the rest of the country remains mostly clear.

This afternoon, there will generally be clouds over the high hilly and mountainous regions of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces, with partial cloud cover expected in the remaining areas. There is a possibility of light snowfall accompanied by rain in a few places in the high hilly and mountainous regions of Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces, and in one or two places in the high hilly and mountainous regions of Gandaki province.

Additionally, there is a possibility of light rain with thunderstorms in a few places in the remaining areas of Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces.

Tonight, there will generally be clouds over Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces, along with the remaining Himalayan regions, while the rest of the areas will have partial cloud cover.

There is a possibility of moderate snowfall accompanied by rain in some places in the high hilly and mountainous regions of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces, and light snowfall with rain in one or two places in the high hilly and mountainous regions of the remaining provinces. Furthermore, there is a possibility of moderate rain in some places in the hilly regions of Karnali, Sudurpashchim, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, and light rain in a few places in the Terai regions.

The department has indicated that there is also a possibility of thunderstorms in a few places in the hilly and Terai regions of Lumbini and Sudurpashchim provinces.
