Bride Gives Birth on Wedding Night in India, Groom Celebrates by Distributing Sweets

It is unusual for a bride to give birth to a child on the very night she enters her husband's home after marriage. It is even rarer for the groom to distribute sweets to the villagers in celebration immediately following his wife giving birth right after the wedding.

Such an incident has come to light in the Rampur district of Uttar Pradesh state in India. The bride gave birth to a child just a few hours after the marriage in the Kumharia village, under the Azimnagar police station area.

According to Indian media, the marriage of Rizwan, a resident of Kumharia village, was fixed with a young woman from Bahadurganj village. The two had a long-standing love affair. Discussions were underway between both families regarding the preparations for the wedding.

A few days ago, the young woman approached the Murasaina police outpost in the Azimnagar police station area and submitted an application requesting that the marriage be solemnized. The marriage was finalized by mutual consent between both parties in the presence of the village head and others.

Accordingly, on Saturday, the groom, accompanied by a few relatives, went to Bahadurganj village to marry his beloved. Their wedding took place in a traditional manner. The ritual of bringing the bride home was completed that night. That very night, the bride went into labor. It is reported that the bride gave birth to a healthy baby that night.

The groom distributed sweets to the villagers on Sunday, overjoyed by the birth of a daughter. According to Azimnagar Station House Officer Karan Singh, the couple had a pre-existing love relationship, and it was revealed during that time that the woman was pregnant. Since both were ready to settle down together consensually, no formal complaint was filed, he stated.
