CPN-UML Appoints Former Politburo Member Narad Muni Rana as Election Commander for Kailali-5 Constituency

Dhangadhi. The CPN-UML has appointed former Politburo member and Kailali in-charge, Narad Muni Rana, as the election commander for Kailali-5. A meeting of the Constituency No. 5 Regional Coordination Committee held on Friday formed a 1,001-member main mobilization committee for election preparations under Rana's convenorship.

The party's Sudurpaschim Province Secretary, Ranabahadur Chand, has been appointed as the deputy convenor of the committee. Furthermore, a 25-member main election mobilization committee secretariat has also been formed under Rana's convenorship. For the House of Representatives election scheduled for February 21 (Bikram Sambat date omitted), the CPN-UML has nominated District Chairman Yagya Raj Dhungana as the candidate for Kailali-5.

Leaders representing Kailali-5 at various levels have been made members of the secretariat. Rana, who became the election commander for Dhungana, had defeated Nepali Congress leader Arju Rana in Kailali-5 in 2074 BS but was defeated by Congress's Dilliraj Pant in 2079 BS.

Rana was also an aspirant for the candidacy this time, but after the party gave the ticket to District Chairman Dhungana, he has become the election commander and is actively working to ensure the party's candidate wins.
