Chakhewa Bhanjyang Emerging as Key Tourist Destination in Eastern Nepal

Bhojpur. Chakhewa Bhanjyang, located in the border area between Khotang and Bhojpur, within Bhojpur Tembkemaiyung Rural Municipality, is rapidly developing into an attractive tourist destination in Eastern Nepal. Natural beauty, cultural richness, and accessible infrastructure have made this area an easy destination for tourists.

Situated at an altitude of 2,351 meters above sea level, Chakhewa Bhanjyang is approximately 40 kilometers from the Bhojpur headquarters. This site, connected by a paved road, is increasingly becoming the choice for tourists wishing to experience the taste of local cuisine and the warmth of nature.

Tembkemaiyung Rural Municipality also has a plan to develop the Chakhewa area as a center for tourism based on customs, culture, and civilization.

Chakhewa Bhanjyang lies at the focal point of the Mid-Hill Highway and the Mundum Trekking Trail, which further enhances the area's tourism significance. The Rural Municipality has already secured a budget of approximately NPR 30 million from the federal government for the construction of a large cultural museum, park, and cultural study center.

The Rural Municipality has shown dedication to the development of the Chakhewa area under the main slogan: "Agriculture, Tourism, and Cultural Infrastructure: The Basis for Tembkemaiyung's Development." The municipality has stated that the current goal is to bring transformation to the local standard of living through infrastructure strengthening, cultural heritage preservation, and sustainable tourism.
