Western Winds Affecting Weather Across Nepal, Light Snowfall Possible in High Mountains

Kathmandu. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has stated that Nepal is currently under the influence of the westerly wind system. Due to this influence, generally cloudy conditions prevail in the Sudurpashchim Province, as well as the hilly and Himalayan regions of the Gandaki and Karnali Provinces. The weather in the remaining areas is generally clear.

This afternoon, it will be generally cloudy in the high hilly and Himalayan regions of the country, with partial cloud cover in the rest of the areas. There is a possibility of light rainfall accompanied by snowfall in a few places in the high hilly and Himalayan regions. There is also a possibility of light rain in one or two places in the remaining parts of Gandaki Province and Karnali Province.

Tonight, the hilly and Himalayan regions of the country will be generally cloudy, with partial cloud cover in the remaining areas. There is a possibility of light snowfall and rain in one or two places in the high hilly and Himalayan regions of Koshi Province, Gandaki Province, and Karnali Province.
