Two Killed in Head-on Motorcycle Collision in Rautahat, Nepal

Rautahat. Two people died when two motorcycles collided with each other near a school in Pathara Pokhari, Rajdevi Municipality-1, along the Gaur-Pipara road section in Rautahat.

The accident occurred this morning at around 11:40 AM. According to the District Police Office, Rautahat, the deceased have been identified as Ashok Mahato, the rider of motorcycle bearing registration number BR 30AF 2370, a resident of Durgabhagawati Rural Municipality-2, and 29-year-old Arvind Mahato, a resident of Rajdevi Municipality-2, who was riding the second motorcycle with registration number Pr. 02-03-018 P 2346.

Arvind Mahato died on the spot, while Ashok Mahato, who was seriously injured, died during treatment at the Provincial Hospital in Gaur, informed District Police Spokesperson DSP Bishnu Pradip Basyal.

A police team, led by Inspector Bishwanath Yadav from the District Police Office, Gaur, along with traffic police, reached the scene and is conducting necessary investigations. Police stated that the bodies of both deceased have been kept at the Provincial Hospital in Gaur for post-mortem examination.

DSP Basyal stated that preliminary investigation suggests that both motorcycles were speeding and lost control, leading to the accident.
