RSP Deputy Chairman Urges Former PM Baburam Bhattarai to Withdraw Candidacy in Gorkha-2

Kathmandu. Swarnim Wagle, Deputy Chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has urged Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, Chairman of the Nepal Socialist Party and former Prime Minister, to withdraw his candidacy from Gorkha Constituency Number 2. In the context of the upcoming election on Falgun 21, Wagle proposed that Bhattarai support RSP by acting as its guardian.

Wagle recalled that Bhattarai himself envisioned a new force for 21st-century economic prosperity while preserving the achievements of older parties. He claimed that the rise, expansion, and stature of the RSP were possible only on the foundation of alternative politics established by Bhattarai, and thus urged him to support the RSP on the path forward.

Wagle expressed confidence that Bhattarai, as a former Prime Minister, could play a senior guardian role in guiding the RSP.

Hinting that a federal government led by or involving the RSP could be formed after Falgun 21, he stated that Bhattarai's experience would be necessary for managing the transitional phase related to the government's political, administrative, good governance, and development aspects.

Stating that much work remains to be done by learning from Bhattarai's experience, Wagle requested him to withdraw his candidacy in the upcoming election and generously support the RSP. He specifically urged Bhattarai to present this act as an exemplary, patriotic model.
