Myagdi's district court settles 118 divorce cases

Babiyachaur (Myagdi) - The number of divorce cases in the district has shot up in the past few years.

The district recorded a total of 118 cases of divorce in the fiscal year 2016/17. Of the total of 130 cases related to divorce registered at the District Court in the preceding year, 118 were settled while the rest are pending to be dealt with in the ongoing fiscal year 2017/18.

In the fiscal year 2015/16, the court settled 80 such cases. Court Registrar Raju Dhungana said the court had received the highest number of registered divorce cases.

The couples mostly separated due to misuse of information and technology, dispute, lack of trust and the influence of the western culture.
