Govt to provide Rs 15,000 each to Gen-Z movement injured people
The government has decided to provide a relief of Rs 15,000 each to 2,429 people injured in the Gen-Z movement that occurred on September 8-9, demanding good governance and anti-corruption. The uprising saw the killing of at least 74 people and hundreds of others injured.
A Cabinet meeting today took a decision in this regard, said the government spokesperson and Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagdish Kharel.
Similarly, the meeting also decided to accept additional grant assistance of about 5 million US dollars from the Norwegian government and about 2.1 million US dollars from the Swiss government for the provincial and local governance support programme, he said.
It was decided upon to form a committee under the coordination of Prakash Jung KC to conduct a study and submit suggestions for the restructuring of the Nepal Stock Exchange Limited, he said.
The cabinet also decided to amend the immigration regulations to adjust the trekking permit fee for foreign citizens in the Upper Mustang region at 50 US dollars per person per day and to appoint Dr Kalpana Kumari Shrestha as the executive director of the Shahid Dharmabhakta National Transplant Center.
