Pakistan and Saudi Arabia Sign Agreement in Riyadh
An important agreement has been signed between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. The agreement was signed by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Riyadh on Wednesday.
A Strategic Defense Pact
This agreement is being called a strategic mutual defense pact. A key part of the deal states that if an attack is launched on either country, it will be considered an attack on both countries. The signing took place during Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's official visit to Saudi Arabia. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman welcomed him at the Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh.
Strengthening a Longstanding Friendship
During their meeting, the two leaders discussed ways to make their relationship even stronger. Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, explained on the social media platform X that the two nations have a relationship that is almost 80 years old. He stated this relationship is based on brotherhood, Islamic unity, and strategic cooperation. He further said the goal of this agreement is to increase defense collaboration and to ensure peace and security in the region.
