Laboratory services benefit community people in Bhimdutta

Kanchanpur, Sept 15: The service seekers have largely benefitted from the laboratory services initiated by the Bhimdutta Municipality-16 in Kanchanpur district. The people here now have received better services from the lab facility and don’t have to visit the health facilities in the district headquarters. "The local people are getting services of general health checkups," officials shared. “After the start of laboratory services in the village, we are no longer compelled to travel to Mahendranagar, the district headquarters, for basic health checkups,” local resident Jayanti Samant shared “Most of the basic tests are available here. This is great relief to us," Jayanti added. The municipality's health centre has offered services of diabetes, typhoid, malaria, sputum and urine tests, and the economically poor people also get the services for free, Chief of the Urban Health Centre Toyaraj Bhatta said. The patients of chronic diseases and senior citizens have got relief from the municipality's services at the grassroots level. Moreover, the health centre has been providing family planning services, pregnancy tests and the birthing service too. The centre is giving health services round the clock and everyday 40 to 50 people visit to get services. The Bhimdutta Municipality has regularly provided essential drugs to the centre.
