Court Issues Notice to Riya Chakraborty in Sushant Singh Case

A Mumbai magistrate court has issued a notice to actress Riya Chakraborty regarding a closure report filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death. The CBI submitted this report in March 2025, concluding its investigation into the case.

Court Directs Notice to Affected Parties

According to India Today, Magistrate R.D. Chavan instructed authorities to notify the original complainant, victim, or affected parties before proceeding further. The court has postponed any additional action until the notice is served. Riya has been asked to respond by August 12.

Legal Process and Background

The notice is part of standard legal procedure, allowing the complainant to raise objections to the CBI's findings. In 2020, Riya had filed a complaint against Sushant’s sisters, Priyanka Singh and Meetu Singh, as well as Dr. Tarun Nath Ram. She accused them of procuring medicines for Sushant without proper medical supervision.

Riya claimed that Sushant suffered from bipolar disorder and was not undergoing consistent treatment. The CBI’s closure report now brings the case back into focus, with the court ensuring all parties have a chance to present their views before finalizing the decision.

The case continues to draw public attention as the legal process unfolds.
