PM Oli criticizes use of Adityanath's photo in royalist rally

Kathmandu, March 10 — Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli condemned the use of foreign leaders' photographs in local protests, specifically pointing out the inclusion of Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of India's Uttar Pradesh, in a pro-monarchy rally on Sunday.
He stated that the country should not be in a position where foreign images are needed to lead protests.
While inaugurating the 11th General Convention of the NGO Federation of Nepal in Kathmandu on Monday, PM Oli remarked that such actions were unnecessary and made light of the incident, suggesting that the protestors were displaying photos of controversial figures rather than focusing on the issues.
He further emphasized that he had no time for anti-democratic, anti-system, or unconstitutional actions, and that his focus remained on building the nation.
The Prime Minister reiterated the need for Nepal to move towards self-reliance, stating that the country should not depend on external aid, which could be cut off at any time.
Oli also stressed the importance of utilizing Nepal's fertile land to boost production and productivity in the face of globalization.
He urged social organizations to focus on successes, hopes, and achievements, rather than just failures, and assured that there would be no obstacles to development in Nepal.
