Female judges should be the pride of judiciary: CJ Raut

Kathmandu, March 10 — Chief Justice Prakash Man Singh Raut emphasized that female judges should be the pride of Nepal’s judiciary and judicial system.

He made this statement while addressing the "Women Judges Conference, 2025" organized on the occasion of International Women Judges' Day in Lalitpur on Monday.

Raut expressed his commitment to providing full support for women judges in making the judiciary and judicial system a source of pride.

He noted that honor in the judiciary is not easily achieved, and it is only through unwavering commitment to justice, maintaining impartiality, making reasoned decisions, and upholding transparency that true honor can be earned.

He also encouraged women judges to contribute to enhancing the dignity and respect of the judiciary.

Raut said, “Female judges should be the pride of Nepal's judiciary and judicial system. On behalf of myself, I wish to offer my congratulations and best wishes. I will leave no stone unturned in providing any necessary assistance. However, this honor cannot be gained easily. It requires unwavering commitment to justice, maintaining fairness, making thoughtful decisions, and upholding integrity. This is how the dignity and respect of the judiciary can be increased.”

The Chief Justice also mentioned that the current judicial leadership is prioritizing judicial reforms and moving forward with this agenda. He acknowledged that the task of administering justice is complex but crucial for the judicial system.
