Kathmandu, March 10 — A team of seven Indian police officers who had come to Kathmandu with the intent of arresting a suspect without permission have been detained by the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB).

According to a senior police officer, they were apprehended at the Aloft Hotel in Thamel.

The officers had arrived in Kathmandu on February 24 and were staying at the hotel.

After being detained in Thamel, the CIB team handed them over to the Indian Embassy.

According to police sources, the embassy arranged for their return to India via air travel.

The Indian police team, which had arrived from Punjab, was reportedly in Kathmandu to search for an Indian suspect.

They are accused of not coordinating with Nepal’s official police departments during their operation.
