Women's Day Cup: Nepal defeats Uganda by one-wicket

Kathmandu, March 9 — Nepal secured a thrilling one-wicket victory over Uganda in their second match of the Women's Day Cup T-20I tournament currently being held in Uganda.

Nepal chased down Uganda's target of 76 runs with just one ball to spare, losing 9 wickets in the process.

Uganda batted first after winning the toss and set a target of 76 runs, posting a total of 75 runs in 20 overs while losing 7 wickets.

Nepal’s bowlers delivered an outstanding performance, with Pooja Mahato taking 3 wickets for 14 runs from 4 overs, and Captain Indu Verma claiming 2 wickets for 8 runs in her 4-over spell.

In reply, Sana Praveen contributed 17 runs, and Pooja Mahato added 16 runs for Nepal.

In their first match, Nepal had suffered a loss against Namibia.
