Maoist Centre to hold office-bearers meeting tomorrow

Kathmandu, March 9 — The main opposition party, the CPN (Maoist Center), will hold its office-bearers meeting on Monday morning.
The meeting, which was initially scheduled for 3 PM today, has been postponed to 8 AM tomorrow at the residence of party chairman Prachanda in Khumaltar, as top leaders are still arriving in Kathmandu, according to party secretary Devendra Paudel.
The previously planned awareness campaign along the Postal Highway has been postponed, and top leaders are returning to Kathmandu.
Chairman Prachanda has already arrived in Kathmandu, as confirmed by the party's secretariat.
Deputy General Secretary Giriraj Mani Pokharel and other leaders are also returning to the capital.
Following former King Gyanendra Shah’s call to support the defense of the nation, pro-monarchy activists have increased their street activities.
In light of the latest political developments, an informal meeting of top leaders held in Rautahat on Saturday decided to shift their focus from the Terai-Madhes Awareness Campaign to Kathmandu.
However, Secretary Paudel mentioned that the rise in pro-monarchy activity will not make a significant difference.
"The pro-monarchy movement will not affect us. The Maoists have not prepared anything substantial. The campaign was postponed to play a more effective role in Parliament." Paudel said.
"A meeting has been scheduled tomorrow morning to discuss future plans," he added.
