Over 100 Nepali students return home from KIIT

Kathmandu, February 19 — Following the tense situation at the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) in India, more than 100 Nepali students have returned to Nepal.
As of Wednesday morning, 96 students have arrived at the Raxaul border and made their way to Nepal, according to SP Gautam Mishra of Parsa.
He confirmed that the students have been facilitated by the police to reach their homes in Bara, Rautahat, and Parsa districts.
Police spokesperson DIG Dinesh Acharya mentioned that a few students have also returned via the Kakadbhitta and Biratnagar border crossings, with five students specifically reporting their return upon arriving in Biratnagar.
The situation at KIIT, which had been tense following the mysterious death of Nepali student Prakriti Lamsal, is gradually returning to normal.
After the incident, the university administration requested Nepali students to return home, and several students have confirmed their safe arrival in Nepal.
