Tipper falls off road in Rolpa, driver killed

Butwal, February 19 — A tipper truck accident in Rolpa has resulted in one death.

The tipper, registered as NA 8 Kha 7276, was traveling from Chukbot, Madi Rural Municipality-4 to Byangkhola via Ghartigau, Madi Rural Municipality-2, when it plunged about 100 meters down from the Sahid Marga road in Ghartigau, resulting in the death of one person at the scene.

According to Police Inspector Dev Singh Bhandari from the Ghartigau Area Police Office, the driver, 36-year-old Jit Kumar, a resident of Nijgadh-5, Bara, was killed in the accident.

The police have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident.
