NEPSE index climbs for third consecutive day, hits 2,739.82 points

Kathmandu, February 18 — The Nepali Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has risen for the third consecutive day, increasing by 11.92 points on Tuesday.
With this gain, the market index reached 2,739.82 points.
Along with the rise in the index, the total transaction amount also saw an increase.
On Tuesday, shares worth NPR 10.43 billion were traded, following a similar trend on Monday when the total transaction surpassed NPR 10 billion.
Despite the overall market index increasing, 149 companies saw a decline in their stock prices, while 87 companies' prices increased, and 8 remained stable.
Interestingly, even though the majority of companies experienced a drop in value, the market index still showed an upward trend.
Among the significant movements, four companies — Wean Nepal, Gurans Microfinance, Emerging Nepal, and Guardian Micro Insurance — saw a positive circuit breaker.
In contrast, the debentures of Saptakoshi Development Bank and Kumari Bank experienced a negative circuit breaker.
In terms of market activity, Himalayan Reinsurance led in the transaction amount, number of trades, and number of shares traded.
