Child dies after being hit by bus in Bajura

Dangadhi, February 16 — A child has died after being hit by a bus in Bajura.

The incident occurred on Sunday morning along the Sanfe-Martadi road section in Budhiganga Municipality-1, Amkot.

The child and his mother were injured in the accident, and the child later succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

The eight-year-old child, Nayan Padhyaya of Amkot, died at the district hospital. His mother, Bishnu Padhyaya, who is around 50 years old, was also injured in the accident.

According to Police Inspector Janak Bahadur Bohara of the Bajura District Police Office, the bus, number Su.Pa.Pra. 01-001 Kha 3688, hit the mother and child while they were resting near a shop by the roadside.

Both were taken to the district hospital immediately after the accident. While the child died, the mother is currently receiving treatment.

The bus driver, 40-year-old Upendra Madai from Dangadhi, Kailali, has been taken into custody, and further investigation is ongoing.
