7 killed in separate road accidents across Nepal

Kathmandu, February 7 — A series of separate vehicle accidents in Kathmandu and other parts of Nepal have resulted in the deaths of seven individuals.

In Kathmandu, a 22-year-old man, whose name and identity remain undisclosed, died on Friday night after being hit by an unidentified vehicle at a road in Balaju, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-14.

The victim sustained severe injuries and was rushed to the National Trauma Center, where he succumbed to his injuries. Police are currently searching for the vehicle responsible for the accident.

In Makawanpur, a tragic incident occurred in Hetauda Sub Metropolitan City-11, where a truck with registration number Na.4 Kha 2496 collided with an auto rickshaw with registration number Na.1 Ha 8308 on Friday evening.

A 35-year-old woman, Puja Bamjan from Manahari Rural Municipality-6, was killed in the accident, while the two auto rickshaw drivers who were injured are undergoing treatment at Chure Hill Hospital.

The truck driver has been detained by the police.

In Sindhupalchok, a tipper truck with registration number Ba.3 Kha 5664 crashed on a road in Chautara Sangachokgadhi Municipality-10 on Friday night.

The crash claimed the life of 40-year-old Yam Bahadur Magar from the area, who died while undergoing treatment at Chautara District Hospital.

The tipper truck driver, who was also injured, is being treated at Dhulikhel Hospital.

In Mahottari, a pedestrian accident in Bardibas Municipality-4 on Friday night led to the death of 60-year-old Dal Bahadur Tamang from the area.

He was severely injured after being hit by an unidentified vehicle and later died during treatment at Shubha Swastik Hospital.

The vehicle responsible for the incident is still being sought by the police.

In Banke, a motorcycle accident occurred on the road in Kohalpur Municipality-12 on Friday night.

The motorcycle, registered as Ka.Pra.02-001 Pa 1883, was heading toward Shamsherganj when it crashed.

The rider, 46-year-old Sher Bahadur Khatri from Raptisonari Rural Municipality-8, died while receiving treatment at Kohalpur Medical College.

The truck involved in the accident, with registration number Na.8 Kha 1624, and its driver are under investigation by the police.

In Chitwan, a car with registration number Ba.11 Cha 9243 collided with a motorcycle with registration number Na.30 Pa 7935 on the road in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-9 on Friday night.

The motorcyclist, 52-year-old Dukhiram Darai from Bharatpur, died after being critically injured.

He was taken to Bharatpur Government Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The car driver is under police custody.

In Udaypur, a motorcycle crash occurred on the road in Katari Municipality-1 on Friday night, when a motorcycle with registration number Province 2-01-003 Pa 1304 lost control while traveling from Mirchaiya to Katari.

The rider, 23-year-old Robin Tamang from Katari Municipality-7, died instantly at the scene.

Another individual riding the motorcycle was seriously injured and sent to BP Koirala Health Science Institute in Dharan for treatment.

The police are currently investigating all these accidents.
