Pokhara Mayor Acharya airlifted to Kathmandu

Pokhara, February 15 — Pokhara Metropolitan City Mayor Dhanraj Acharya has been airlifted to Kathmandu via a Simrik Air helicopter for further treatment.

He was injured after a balloon, prepared for the inauguration of the Visit Nepal Year in Pokhara, burst.

Mayor Acharya is set to undergo additional medical checks at the Burn Hospital in Kirtipur.

Earlier, Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel, who was also injured in the same event, was also brought to Kathmandu for treatment.

Both leaders were injured when a balloon, with a banner celebrating the Visit Nepal Year, burst during the opening ceremony in Pokhara.
