Kathmandu. Separate meetings of the high-level mechanism and task force, including leaders of the major ruling parties, have been called.
The mechanism and task force meetings have been called at a time when many doubts are arising about the future of the government led by UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli.
According to the Prime Minister's Secretariat, a meeting of the task force has been called for 5 pm on Wednesday. After that, a meeting of the high-level mechanism has been called for 6:30 pm. Both meetings will be held at the Prime Minister's official residence, Baluwatar.
Earlier, a meeting was held between Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba on Tuesday. It was reported that the two leaders discussed the appointment of governors, transfers and promotions in important bodies, the teachers' movement and the government's delivery during the meeting.
The task force includes Senior Vice President Ishwor Pokharel from UML, Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel, General Secretary Shankar Pokharel and the Prime Minister's Chief Political Advisor Bishnu Rimal.
The Congress has Vice President Purna Bahadur Khadka, General Secretary Gagan Thapa, Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, and Foreign Minister Arju Rana Deuba. Along with these leaders, the mechanism also includes Prime Minister Oli and Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba.
